  5. Vegetables. Vitamin A, found in pumpkins, carrots, sweet potatoes and broccoli, is necessary for the formation of tooth enamel. Crunchy vegetables may also help clean gums.
  6. Onions contain antibacterial sulfur compounds. Onions kill various types of bacteria, especially when eaten raw.
  7. Celery protects teeth by producing saliva which neutralizes acid that causes demineralization and cavities.
  8. Sesame Seeds reduce plaque and help build tooth enamel. They are also very high in calcium.
  9. Animal Food. Beef, chicken, turkey, and eggs contain phosphorus which, along with calcium, is one of the two fundamental minerals of teeth and bone.
  10. Water cleans the mouth and produces saliva that deposits essential minerals into the teeth. It keeps gums hydrated and washes away particles from the teeth
  11. Sugarless Chewing Gum.  Chewing sugarless gum after a meal is a good way to substitute brushing in between meals; it can help remove food particles from between the teeth.

  3. French Fries This type of food are inclined to stick to your teeth throughout the day.
  4. Strong Smelling Foods. Foods like onion and garlic can contribute to bad breath. If you do eat these types of foods, try to brush your teeth as soon as possible afterward.
  5. Snacks. Snacking between meals should be limited. If you choose to snack, try to eat healthy foods without sugar and clean your teeth.
  6. Acidic Foods. Fizzy drinks and drink such as oranges or orange juice can promote tooth decay and enamel wear. If you do consume acidic foods, be sure to brush your teeth afterwards.

  1. Great post! You may consider adding foods that contain xylitol to your list of beneficial foods. Using xylitol at least 4 times per day has been shown to drastically reduce the occurrence of cavities. The only food I can think of off the top of my head that naturally contains xylitol is berries. There are more, but they escape me at the moment.
