Cancer Diet – Foods that Resist Cancer

Good cancer diet can be vital in increasing your personal odds of survival. The easiest, least-expensive way to reduce your risk for cancer is just by eating a healthy cancer diet. When it comes to a cancer diet rich in cancer-fighting substances, most experts agree that it should consist of a predominantly plant-based diet that includes fruits, vegetables and Nuts.

  1. Fruits and Berries

    Berries. All berries are packed with cancer-fighting phytonutrients, black raspberries, in particular, contain very high concentrations of phytochemicals called anthocyanins, which slow down the growth of premalignant cells and keep new blood vessels from forming and potentially feeding a cancerous tumor.In view of foregoing berries shall be part of Cancer Diet.


    Cruciferous Vegetables (Broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, Kale). These Vegetables have a chemical component called indole-3-carbinol that can combat breast cancer by converting a cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective variety. Broccoli, especially sprouts, also have the phytochemical sulforaphane, a product of glucoraphanin–believed to aid in preventing some types of cancer, like colon and rectal cancer. It appears that the more bitter the broccoli is, the more glucoraphanin it has. Ensure  cruciferous vegetables are part of Cancer Diet.

  3. Grapes

    Grapes and Wine. Grapes and wine contain a chemical called resveratrol, which has been shown to be a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. Resveratrol is thought to work by preventing cell damage before it begins. Red and purple grapes are the richest sources of resveratrol. include grapes and wine as part of Cancer Diet.

  4. Carrots

    Carrots. Carrots contain a lot of beta carotene, which may help reduce a wide range of cancers including lung, mouth, throat, stomach, intestine, bladder, prostate and breast. a substance called falcarinol that is found in carrots has been found to reduce the risk of cancer.

  5. Mushroom

    Mushrooms. Mushrooms contain polysaccharides, especially Lentinan, powerful compounds that help in building immunity. They are a source of Beta Glucan. They also have a protein called lectin, which attacks cancerous cells and prevents them from multiplying. Mushrooms can stimulate the production of interferon in the body. Making Mushrooms part of Cancer Diet can be helpful

  6. Seaweed

    Seaweed and other sea vegetables. It contain beta-carotene, protein, vitamin B12, fiber, and chlorophyll, as well as chlorophylones–important fatty acids that may help in the fight against breast cancer. Many sea vegetables also have high concentrations of the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and iodine. therefore these are important to be included in cancer diet.

  7. Sweet Potato

    Sweet Potatoes. It contains many anticancer properties, including beta-carotene, which may protect DNA in the cell nucleus from cancer-causing chemicals outside the nuclear membrane. Including this in cancer diet can be helpful.

  8. Flaxseed in the form of oil and meal contains phytoestrogens believed to reduce the risk of breast, skin, and lung cancer.
  9. Garlic

    Garlic (including onions, scallions, leeks, and chives). Garlic contains a number of compounds believed to slow or stop the growth of tumors. One such compound, diallyl disulfide, appears to be especially potent in protecting against skin, colon, and lung cancer.

  10. Green Tea

    Green Tea. Green tea is a rich source of a class of flavonoids known as catechins. Laboratory studies have shown that the catechins present in green tea are able to slow or prevent the development of cancer in colon, liver, breast, and prostate cells. Regularly drinking green tea is recommended as part of cancer diet.

  11. Whole Grains

    Whole Grains. Whole grains contain a variety of anti-cancer compounds, including fiber, antioxidants, and phytoestrogens. When eaten as part of a balanced diet, whole grains can help decrease the risk of developing most types of cancer.
