Some Instant Coffee Products may be Harmful warns FDA

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to drink Longjack Coffee, in addition to other instant coffee products that have been recalled recently –Kopi Jantan Tradisional Natural Herbs Coffee, CaverFlo Coffee, and AMPT Coffee. These products are labeled to contain instant coffee, non-dairy creamer, and other ingredients. However, FDA laboratory analysis confirmed:

  1. CaverFlo Coffee and AMPT Coffee contain undeclared sildenafil and tadalafil;
  2. Longjack Coffee and Kopi Jantan Tradisional Natural Herbs Coffee contain undeclared desmethyl carbodenafil, an analogue of sildenafil; and
  3. All of these products contain undeclared milk.

Health News – Diabetes increase the risk of Heart Attack in Young Women Six Fold

Compared with young women who did not have a history of MI, young women with MI showed the following prevalence of risk factors:

  1. 48.8% arterial hypertension (compared with 16.7%),
  2. 48.7% current smoking (versus 40.0%),
  3. 65.5% past smoking (versus 42,7%),
  4. 36.1% high cholesterol, or hypercholesterolemia (versus 12.5%),
  5. 22.3%obesity (versus 15.3%),
  6. 10.6% diabetes mellitus (versus 1.4%).

The young female MI patients ranged from 21 to 45 years of age and averaged 42. Their strongest independent heart attack predictors were:Diabetes, which increased MI risk six-fold, Arterial high blood pressure (four-fold)High cholesterol (three-fold)Current smoking (1.6 times).There was no statistical significance for obesity measured by body mass index (BMI) as a predictor of MI.

Many types of Low-Carb Diets exist, each with varying restrictions on the types and amounts of carbohydrates you can eat. A Low-Carb Diet is generally used to lose weight. Some Low Carb Diet claim that they have health benefits beyond weight loss, such as reducing risk factors associated with heart disease, certain cancers, diabetes and metabolic syndrome.

However it is common to find that any diet less than 50-60% Carb Ratio is called a Low Carb Diet. Depending on one’s sensitivity to Carbohydrates, a Moderate Carb Ratio may be better than a High Carb Ratio.
